volontari 2022Ciao a tutti!

We are Lilly, Danae, Anna, and Benedict coming from Germany, Greece, Poland, and Ireland, respectively. We are of different ages and from different backgrounds, but we enjoyed doing this project together: living, working, travelling, and cooking!!!

We have mostly worked on four projects: supporting a migrant centre, working on a farm with differently-abled people, a day centre for differently-abled persons, and helping at a hostel. As you can see, the work is very varied and is spread all over the province. You will have the opportunity to work more at the place you find particularly interesting so that you can focus on your preferred aspect of the project. In the working places we interact with many local people that helped us improve our Italian language skills and learn more about the regional traditions. We have enjoyed travelling and exploring Italy both as a group and individually.

Viterbo is a very beautiful old city, with lots of traditional events happening in the wider region all year round (like wine festivals and the Bean festival!). Even if it is a small city, due to its university community you will have the chance to meet people from all over the world. We met Erasmus students through Italian language lessons held by the University of Viterbo which the project gave us the opportunity to participate in. Through joining Erasmus groups on social media we managed to get involved in nice events around Viterbo and create a great group of friends.

We recommend you not be afraid to get out of your comfort zone and meet new cultures, people, and ways of living.

We hope your time here is full of memorable events and new friendships.
