di Mahmood Ramadan

This year had many challenges, difficulties and also great achievements.

It has been a great year so far and I look forward to what is still to come. In the beginning after our arrival it was really difficult to move around, for me coming from a small city like Bethlehem, it took me some time to reach locations and move from one location to the other, especially when moving from Viterbo to Tarquinia and the other way around.

I remember asking my flatmates to help me out and they were more than happy to do so. Moreover, the work itself at the daily center, Tarquinia was really difficult in the beginning. I couldn’t really understand all that was needed easily.

Then, with some time I managed to understand how things are done and also build relationships, they even called me the singer “il cantante” because I had the same name as an Italian singer.

Another difficulty is language, even though I took some Italian but still I consider myself not actually knowing and having the language which made things really difficult during the work itself or even in my free time trying to buy things from the shop. I downloaded an application that is helping and teaching me with Italian words a lot, but I also managed to develop skills and understand people through their body language. I’m really happy in this program, I feel how much I am helping people and enjoying this work, I’m also enjoying living with different people from different places in the world who actually became close friends to me.

I love how I do different things with different centers and places during the week. One of the things that I loved is working in the immigrants center and helping there, I felt that my help was needed and important, especially when I was asked to translate for immigrants who speak Arabic. I look forward to what is coming next in this program, I’m really enjoying it and even enjoyed how I managed all the difficulties and challenges in the beginning.0d92eca0-7dea-4524-a8cc-e62c4d283df1
